This is such a quick and easy dessert to whip up when you don’t have much time. You can pre boil the cans of sweetened condensed milk and keep a couple spare in the cupboard to whip up this scrumptiously glorious dessert for any unexpected guests suddenly appearing. My kids love it so much, it’s one of their favorites…
Toffee:
400 g tin sweetened condensed milk
In a large pot full of water place the tin of condensed milk after removing the label. Bring the water to a boil and then lower the heat so it is simmering but not furiously boiling. Leave it on for 3 hours or so making sure the can is always covered with water.
Crust:
4 tbsp melted butter
150 grams graham crackers
2 tbsp sugar
Blitz the crackers in a food processor and then mix in the melted butter and sugar. Press into a tin and smooth out with the bottom of a glass. Â Place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
Filling:
3 bananas
300 ml whipping / heavy cream
When the crust is ready, take out of freezer and open the tin of condensed milk, it would have turned into beautiful gooey toffee. Spread the toffee evenly on the base of the crust and smooth out with a spatula. Now cut your bananas and layer them over the toffee. Finally, whip the cream and add on top of the bananas, and smooth out a bit but still keep it looking a bit rustic, don’t make it too perfect. Decorate with shavings of dark chocolate. Chill in the fridge or enjoy immediately.
